Poetry: If I could Turn Back Time

If I Could Turn Back Time…

By: Jacqueline

If I could turn back time
I would figure out where it all went wrong
Was it something I said?
Something I did?

I thought I apologized
I thought I was forgiven
I know I was wrong
I know it was a bad decision

The guilt
It was clawing at me
Destroying me from within
I couldn’t accept what I did to you

But you forgave me, right?
I thought you forgave me
I thought I was forgiven

But you distanced yourself
You stopped talking to me
And as you stopped talking
The guilt came back

The haunting what ifs
The haunting oh nos
And the haunting final thought of
I can’t lose you

If I lost you
I would have nobody
I turned him away, for you
I lied, for you
I broke my heart, for you
I stopped my dreams, for you

If I could turn back time
I never would’ve gone ice skating
With him
That one icy Saturday

Hey there!

My name is Jacqueline! I’ve just gotten back into reading this past year and hope to venture into this world! I enjoy reading (obviously) and traveling, although I haven’t done much of this, due to being broke.

This blog is just to share my opinions and review, as well as rant about books that I’ve read.

I hope you enjoy!
